I'm a serial entrepreneur at heart. Having started and sold or closed 8 businesses, not including S.G. Design Studio, I have a strong grasp of the challenges that face a small startup company. I've had fun with every business, but some were more successful than others. The longest lasting was NeoTek Computer Systems, a small tech company that did everything. It lasted nearly 13 years. The shortest lived was Dragon's Lair, a comic book store. I learned a lot in just 9 months, including some things not to do with a startup.

It has been an interesting 4 months during the transition back to working solo. Diane and I have started our own jewelry website, Animal Charms, I have taken on a few new clients that really needed the help at Jewelry By Morgan and Solar Eyes, and been invited to join the team at Creadively as their new director of search marketing. All in all a very exciting first quarter.

But wait, there's more! Since re-entering the web development and marketing arena I have been fortunate to be presented with many great opportunities to share my years of experience with others. Most notably I'll be having the first of what I hope to be an ongoing series of articles on internet marketing at Instore Magazine. The first one hits this June!

And change continues. I'm leaving Images Jewelers in just a few weeks and moving on to new opportunities. I've loved nearly every minute of my time at Images, but it's time to move on and explore other opportunities. Two are just starting up now and I hope to be able to announce them in a few weeks, and for the first time I am starting a company with my wife. This should be interesting.

Currently I spend the bulk of my time designing jewelry for Images Jewelers in Elkhart, IN. I love the work, but even more I love knowing that what I do truly affects people's lives in a very positive way. There is nothing better than handing a bride to be the ring of her dreams and having her break down and cry with joy.

Jewelry design isn't all I do these days though. I also help friends with their websites, and Search Engine Optimization has become something of an obsesive hobby of mine. It has gotten to the point that I am looking at starting company #10 in the near future to help people with great products become better at marketing them online. But that's all hush hush right now, so don't tell anyone.
